I can be impulsive, I fall in love with hobbies, tv shows, movies, etc only to fall out of love with them a short time later. In the meantime, I had joined a bazillion newsletters, LJ communities, etc, etc. So long after I am disenchanted with "Torchwood", I am still in the community all about TV series. I really do not need specific icon communities, if they are on LJ, I can always snag an item with permissin without being a member of that community. Some interests remain, but it takes a great deal of time, time I do not have, to be an active member.

So I performed a spring cleaning, taking out news feeds I no longer want to see, left communities for TV shows and other miscellaneous things and defriended people I had not seen post in quite a while. If I defriended you by mistake, post a comment and let me know.

Overall, I feel rather accomplished in having cleaned up my Friends page. Naturally, this lasts up until I get caught up in the latest craze and i want to know everything about it.

Back to the grindstone for a while and than make an effort to actual go to gym.

And the LJ developers still had not fixed the bug and then they wonder why are there unsatisfied customers? I don't know what is worse, outright idiocy or evil intent. In the case of the latter something can be attempted in a form of negotiation; in the case of the former - nothing.

Ola, I taken off a few people of my f-list, those that had not posted in a long while. If you have been reading, but not posting lemme know and I'll add you again.

Apparently the Rich Text Editor has been disabled for those using the latest version of Firefox ver2, the release of 2.0.0.17 has compatibility issues with LJ.

What annoys me is that there is no mention if the developers are working on the problem or even what is the approximate time before it is all fixed again. I am seriously unimpressed.

Weird, it seems like my issue has been resolved between testing it once I logged on to my work laptop and trying again 5 minutes later to see the error code. Hmm, most interesting.

I am currently trying to write about beer for my startegic management paper. How the heck does one define a beer industry? Sigh, at least there is lots of material available.

One of the things that has been bothering me for the whole day today. There is a pharmacy my folks and I visit in a little shopping centre about 10-12 minutes drive away from me. Recently I had the strangest reation from my car when parking in the parking lot of that centre. My central locking stops working and using the manual lock still activates the alarm system (nice to know it is working, but not early in the morning). Another friend of my Mom's has the same problem with her car ,whch is of a different make to mine. As soon as I get to a different place, the central locking works beautifully. Anything I should watch out whilst trying to investigate? It only started a few weeks ago and I would like to carry on going there since they have a very good bakery near by that is handy in a 'emergency'.

You know, I never realised how silly we can all be. I mean that some things we don't treat seriously enough other people view as something deserving the outmost consideration and care.

[personal profile] hravan and I always have this open source software vs Microsoft discussions. I enjoy teasing the guy about Microsoft and how I support it (I do support the company, their mistakes are my bread and butter) and he argues the case for open source. We both make some valid points and someone gets bored with the discussion and it stops. Well, I thought the discussions were always semi-serious, my sarcasm and well, let's not beat around the bush, sometimes my utter brutal honesty mixed in with a bit of arrogance were not   typed with 100% seriousness behind it.

Obviously, I was not taking this seriously enough, as I got a snippy reply and when I was typing up a response, where I added that I am sorry that he took my words in offence I get a notification that I am removed from his Friends list. After a small WTF moment, I grabbed an apple, typed a quick message to the guy via MSN and got back to work. Still, makes you wonder about people one think one knows at least a little bit. A little sad too, cause [personal profile] hravan was one of my first  online friends on Live Journal that I did not know in real life.

O well, takes all kinds of sillyness I suppose.

I wanted to post a big post about the boycott, but I felt my time was better spent browsing the big Net for my new favourite pairing, Lorne/Novak of Stargate Atlantis.

I do need to make an entry today, because of the lj boycott that was announced. I refuse to be aligned with people who use the fact that the majority of users find that polite and constructive criticism is the way to go, are behind their often-irrational attacks on the company owning LJ at the time.  Noone is perfect, SUP, Six Apart are all there looking out for themselves and there is no business model for dealing with something like LJ in the first place.

I refuse to join in the boycott, especially those who used the fact that the idiot from SUP, who really did give an interview that would have any PR person cringing is Jewish, to advocate anti-Semitism.  Yes, I am fully aware that not all are anti-semites, however when someone uses the phrase of 'useful anti-Semitism'   and thanks to this cool user , who in this entry talks about finding this horrible phrase in one of the comments to lj boycott posts, my blood starts to boil.

So no, I am not supporting the strike for reasons that I do not agree with the main reasons for them. I also refuse to associate with anti-Semites in any way.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY [personal profile] melancthe!

I wish you ....well, everything good that you desire, including Marco, Thomas Jane, Jack Vance's continuing health and egg and sausage Mcmuffins!

Since I could not find Marco half-naked for you, will Thomas do?
